HEO Program of Excellence Sponsorship Request

December 8, 2023

2023-24 HEO Program of Excellence

Sponsorship Request

Hockey Eastern Ontario would like to extend an invitation to local companies to become a Sponsor Partner of our Program of Excellence (POE). We are a non-profit organization who are looking to reduce the cost of our POE for our athletes and their families, while providing you with a platform to showcase your products/services.

The POE is Hockey Canada's elite development and competitive program that provides players with exposure to international competition and the best high-performance coaching in the country. The program is offered by Hockey Eastern Ontario to start and educate young athletes on the Hockey Canada POE Pathway (U17, U18, U20 and Olympic Teams).

HEO in collaboration with Hockey Northwestern Ontario and Hockey Quebec are set to run a combined POE event (The Border Challenge) at the U14, U15 and U16 levels. This will allow our elite athletes to be exposed to competition and development opportunities outside of HEO. This will mirror the opportunities that athletes from other provinces receive on a yearly basis.

Cross Border Challenge- to Run May 16-19, 2024 at the University of Ottawa

  • U14 Competition will consist of 8 teams – 4 teams from Quebec and 4 Teams from HEO and HNO (HNO will send roughly 15 athletes- HEO will make up the other 65 spots)
  • U15 Competition will consist of 4 teams – 2 teams from Quebec and 2 Teams from HEO and HNO (HNO will send roughly 10 athletes- HEO will make up the other 30 spots)
  • U16 Competition will consist of 4 teams – 2 teams from Quebec and 2 Teams from HEO and HNO (HNO will send roughly 10 athletes- HEO will make up the other 30 spots)
  • Athletes will receive 2 practices and 4 games during the event. They will also receive practice/player assessment skates before the event. Athletes will be exposed to short term competition that is required to play for Hockey Canada.

The cost to run this type of competition will be high, but the value it brings to our local athletes will be even higher. We are looking at local sponsors to offset some of the cost of the event, so that we can keep the cost to the families as low as possible. We realize that hockey is an expensive sport, and we are trying not to place any financial burdens on our families. Hotels, meals, ice time and transportation are only some of the costs associated with running the event.

If providing sponsorship for our event is an option for you and your company, we would welcome the opportunity to discuss further.
