Make Ethical Decisions (MED) training is designed to help coaches be better equipped to identify and deal with difficult situations and understand the legal, ethical and morale implications of those situations.
MED training is not hockey or Hockey Canada specific. MED training is a program within the NCCP offered by the Coach Association of Canada (CAC).
The MED online evaluation must be completed and passed to become certified at the Dev 1 or HP 1 levels.
In both of these clinics the MED content is delivered as part of the clinic instruction. This positions the coach to then take the online evaluation to complete the MED training.
There are several versions of the MED training and online evaluation courses. The three versions that are of particular focus for hockey coaches are:
- Community Sport
- Competition - Introduction
- Competition - Development
When completing the MED training or online evaluation be certain that you are completing the appropriate version. You can use the Qualifications Search Tool to determine the appropriate version of MED you must take for the level and position you are coaching.
