Notes:
- The HTCP Level 1 on-line course can be found at www.hdco.on.ca
- Level 2 certification can be obtained by taking a Standard First Aid course with CPR level C. This can be taken with any approved First Aid Training provider such as Canadian Red Cross, St. Johns Ambulance, Ottawa Paramedic Services, etc. Level 2 will also be granted to Doctor’s, Fire Fighters, Nurses, Police Officers, Paramedics, Registered Physiotherapists, Athletic Therapists, and Military Personnel with First Aid Certification. To upgrade to Level 2 simply forward a copy of your Standard First Aid and CPR certification, or a copy of proof of employment in one of these listed fields.
- Level 3 Certification is a 2-day course specializing in Team Travel Nutrition, Shoulder and Knee Injuries, Review of Head, Spinal and Severe Laceration Injuries and an Introduction to Athletic Taping. This course is held once annually. Please visit eHockey Clinic Registration to search for a scheduled Level 3 course. This certification will expire on a 3 year cycle, to re-new Level 3 certification you must attend the course again in its entirety.
- All Trainer Certifications expire on 3-year cycles, i.e. if you receive level 1 certification this fall it will expire August 31, 3 years later. To re-new Level 1 certification go to www.hdco.on.ca prior to your expiry date and complete the on-line re-certification course.
- Level 2 Certification expiry dates coincide with that of your Standard First Aid expiry date. In order to renew level 2 status you need to simply supply the HEO office with a copy of your most up to date Standard First Aid and CPR cards and we will update you to the expiry date of that certification, there is no fee for this.
- In order to avoid doing the Trainer course in full you must renew your certification prior to the expiry date.
