U17 National Development Camp
A great development opportunity for high performance coaches and equipment managers/trainers!!
Easch year, as part of the National U17 Development Camp, Hockey Canada offers its National Team Experience program. This program provides an opportuniy for coaches, equipment managers and certified athletic therapists across the country to attend the national camp as an assistant coach or part of the support staff, working with the players and national team staffs on and off the ice. There are openings for 12 coaches, 6 equipment managers and 6 athletic therapists.
The National U17 Development Camp brings together 100+ minor midget aged hockey players that have been identified by Hockey Canada as prospects for one of three national teams that will particioate in the Under-17 World Challenge. Our HEO U16 program and the OHL Gold Cup is the beginning of the pathway to the U17 National Development Camp for our local players.
The development camp takes place in Calgary, typically in July. Coaches also attend a Development Seminar in Calgary in June leading up to the camp. All flights, accomodations and meals for both committments are covered by Hockey Canada. In addition, there are several dates for conference calls leading up to the seminar and camp.
Applications
This opportunity is open to those coaches that have experience and backgrounds at the high performance levels of
hockey (CHL, CIS, CJHL, and Major Midget AAA) and are actively working as a coach, equipment manager or athletic therapist
in the season leading up to the national camp.
