IP Mentors

 

personel bio pic Ruggles Pritchard, HEO Initiation Program Coordinator
Once a player and coach in Belgium and senior hockey in B.C., Ruggles has coached and taught extensively since then. He's coached high school hockey and numerous other sports. Of late, he has assisted minor organizations in establishing development programs and taught the Initiation Program. He has been an HEO instructor and specialty clinic teacher for a number of years with work in the IP, Development I and II clinics.

Recently retired as the HEO Executive Director, Richard's 53-year involvement in the game has included teaching and coaching from the Initiation Program to junior as well as working as board member at various levels, locally to nationally. He's been the branch's IP Director since the program's inception in the late 1980s and he has been recognized throughout the region for his commitment to and work with children and coaches at this level. A co-author of the IP program manual, he's been involved with Hockey Canada development committees for over 20 years. He has also taught hundreds of coaching and specialty clinics over the years.

personel bio pic Michael Miller
Mike has been involved in the game as a coach and teacher for 35 years and was one of the original Initiation Program directors in the branch. As such, he co-wrote one of Hockey Canada's IP manuals. His broad coaching experience spans numerous levels, the last 15 years being at the AA and AAA levels in bantam and midget where his teams have won various branch titles. He has represented HEO on Hockey Canada sub-committees and has been an active mentor with local organizations.
